IT IS VERY IMPORTANT! (hence the red capital font) to be at this fitting, as we collect all the forms, collect season fees, and get sizes for suits.

If you are unable to be there FOR ANY REASON, forms and suit sizes 

MUST be given to Coach Havick!

Water Warrior Meeting - 8/27 - Come One, Come All!!

WATER WARRIOR MEETING:

After school (3:45pm), on Thursday, August 27 , we will meet in OCHS lecture hall auditorium for everyone interested in being on the swim/dive team this year! (8th grade JV members and varsity team too)

No Experience Needed!! -- We just want YOU!!!! and we want you in the water!!! BRING FRIENDS!!!!!

End of Year Banquet

SUNDAY, MARCH 15, Is our 2014-2015 YEAR END BANQUET!!!

The Booster team will provide the meat (yup--chicken again!), breads and the beverages, as well as the paper goods and decorations.

The other food is "Pot Luck!" 

Please see the following for what to bring based on your year in high school-

JV and 9th - pasta and potato dishes
10th - veggies or vegetable casserole
11th - salads and fruit dishes
12th- desserts, someone PLEASE get Ben Goss' frosted chewie recipe, 'cause I will be looking for it!

***BRING SERVING UTENSILS, PLEASE--LABEL! 

 
Coaches Bond and Osborne will give a "wind up" of the Year in Review, award some special recognitions and acknowledge our lettermen, as well as state qualifiers. It is a great night for swimmers, divers and their families

If more convenient, please put in an envelope and send to Ann Sewell at OCHS front lobby. Email me that you left it there--and I will get it from Ann!

We want to give them a little gift of appreciation as they work long hours at the pool and off the deck with paperwork.....

Senior Photo Information - Please Read

Swim Meet/Dinner Info

Thanks for a great turnout at the last team dinner at Dominicks!!!! I am sure those carbs helped us win our way to 2nd overall..(first in Class 1A-5A!)

Team photos will be taken at Ramsey Pool at 11:30 am on Saturday before the meet (1/24). Please be ON TIME and bring your team sweats!

No volunteers needed at this next meet--just snack help. Watch for the sign up genius!

Saturday Meet Information

1)  BE AT THE POOL AT 8:45 am for warm-ups. Meet starts at 11am (it will be a long meet, there are a lot of          teams participating)

2)  TEAM DINNER Friday, 1/16 at 7:00 pm at Dominick's (Hog Mtn. Rd.)--$5 per person eating (JV and parents      welcome). COME OUT and hang with the team to get pumped for the meet tomorrow and load up on        

     carbs!!!! RSVP to Kendall Edelen (kedelen@oconeeschools.org) by this WEDNESDAY.

3)  There will be a Spectator Fee - $5 adults/$3 Students. Athletes and coaches (with coaches pass) will enter f      free. Heat sheets will be $5. Volunteers do not pay-- volunteers will need to give name at entrance to get in        free 

4)  Seating is crowded, so we have been told to  NOT rope off sections of the seating area for you team . It is          against fire code for us to sit in the hallway, so spectators and athletes will need to remain in the natatorium      for seating.

5)  PLEASE remember to stay to help clean up our area after the meet! 

Water Warrior Updates:

Team dinner cancelled on Friday 12/19 since it is the last day of school for the semester. Relax, eat some carbs, and get some good sleep!

Thanks to those of you who signed up to bring snacks for the swimmers/divers! We sure appreciate your support.

Note that we DO NOT need any volunteer support this time around; just sit back and CHEER WILDLY for the Water Warriors!!!!

Are you ready to kick this season off!!!  Team roster and schedule are now posted.  First meet is this Saturday at UGA's Ramsey Center.  Divers need to report at 12:30 PM, Swimmers need to report at 1:00 PM.  Meet begins at 2:00 PM.  GO WARRIORS!!!

Awards Banquet March 9th

Hope everyone is making plans for the Banquet on Sunday 3/9 at 6:00pm at the Oconee Civic Center.

As in the past, it will be a covered dish, with the booster club providing the main dish (chicken), bread and drinks. So we don't get too much of any one item, here is what each family should bring:

JV and 9th graders: Pasta or potato items
10th graders: Veggies or veggie casseroles
11th graders: Salads or fruit
12th graders: Desserts

Please bring a LARGE portion, these kids love to eat!! We will eat first and then there will be an awards presentation to follow.

2014 Schedule Information

Here is information on the remaining meets:

Sat. Jan. 11th:
All Day Invitational - Warm ups are at 9:00 and the meet starts at 10:30. This meet usually lasts into the late afternoon. The booster club will provide Subway sandwiches for the swimmers and divers around noon. We will also send out a snack list for volunteers, but be sure to bring extra snacks and drinks in your swim bag.  It is a VERY long day.  OCHS is responsible for providing timers for lanes 3 & 4 all day so we will send out a sign up list for this.  (No JV at this meet).

Sat. Jan. 18th:
Area Championships/Senior Recognition night - The seniors will be recognized at 12:30pm. Warm ups at 1:00pm and the meet starts at 2:00pm. There will be a JV competition also.   GO WARRIORS!

Senior pictures will be taken next Tuesday night (1/7) at Ramsey at 8:00pm.

More info to come on those divers and swimmers qualifying for state on Feb 6-8 at Georgia Tech.

The end of the year banquet is Sunday, March 9th at 6:00pm, save the date!

Meet Saturday 12/14/13

Looking forward to another great meet this Saturday!

We will be taking our yearbook picture before the meet at 12:30pm on the concrete steps just outside the entrance of the Ramsey. BE ON TIME!! If you are late it will make us late for our 1:00 warm up. JV please come too, we will also take a separate picture for the OCMS yearbook. If the weather is bad, come inside the lobby and we will take the picture inside. Please wear the new gray and blue sweatshirt and gray pants.

The team dinner will be at the Edelen's at 6:00pm Friday night, 12/13. Direction to Edelen's home----

From Butler's Crossing/OCHS area- Hog Mountain Rd dead ends into Hwy 441 (Macon Hwy) in front of the Stone Store and the new Golden Chick. Turn left at light towards Athens (going towards loop and Timothy Rd). Take a right onto Spartan Lane(before the loop and Friendship Presby Church) going towards front entrance of Athens Academy. We are at 1210 Spartan Lane on the right corner of Spartan Lane and Knob Creek, BEFORE you reach entrance to Athens Academy. Our home is a red brick ranch style, with a Santa flag at the front door. If you get lost, please call Ben Goss at 706-614-8687. He, Craig Edelen, Emily Deal and Bonnie Knight will be hosts until Kendall can get home!
